Dash
of This Dash of That emerged from a conversation with
my daughter while visiting her in the US. We had sat
down to a meal of her favourite childhood dishes that
I had prepared incorporating the Southeast Asian culinary
influences she loved so much while growing up. In between
mouthfuls she pressed me for details on the recipes
to which I responded in my usual manner.
“A pinch of this,
a sprinkle of this, a little of so-and-so, a dash of
that …”
Having spent a large
part of my life in South East Asia, I immediately fell
in love with the cuisine that spans the region. I started
experimenting with it in my own kitchen combining Indian
and Chinese influences and developed my own unique fusion
recipes. Just like our own Indian cooking, I have found
that South East Asian cuisine heightens all our senses
with its exotic aromas and myriad of intricate flavours.
From my kitchen to you,
I have collected my own favourite recipes which I hope
you will enjoy. It’s a dash of this and a dash
of that but made with a lot of love. |
